Smoke Blowing

I have a 65 Mustang with a Stock 289 and when I start it cold it fires right up with no smoke out tailpipes but after it warms up and I drive for a while and Stop and let it sit for 30 Minutes or more it is Hard to start and when it does it blows out white Smoke. Any help would be great
289 with Edelbrock 1406 carb with Performer intake
Thanks

White smoke indicates coolant....does the smoke have a sweet smell (coolant) or more of an oil smell? Coolant could be a small leak....do you see bubbles in the coolant in the radiator or smell fuel in the radiator (bad head gasket)? Oil would be more blue but can be mistaken for white. That would indicate possible bad valve seals that let some poil drain past when warm but this should also give smoke upon cold start also.

Hard start could be weak battery when hot, timing a bit to advanced, fuel flow issues when hot.

There is no sweet smell to the smoke more of a Fuel smell I checked the coolant and there is no bubbles or smell of fuel. When starting when warm it cranks over perfectly I just have to pump the gas to get it to turn over and then that's when the smoke comes out it looks White to me but could be blue. When driving the car also it has a very strong fuel smell or exhaust smell my eyes will burn if I don't keep the window down and my clothes stink bad after a drive.

Sounds more like a total fuel issue. Having to pump the gas to get it to starts sets up a flooding/rich start so you may see light smoke. Black usually indicates fuel but...... Sounds like the car is running real rich or the timing is out a lot to cause the rich running. Sounds like it is time to start from the beginning of the tuning mode again.

Give us some info on the carb setup and dist. setup so we can help more.

Ok thanks guys I will start from Scratch on the tuning. It has a 1406 Edelbrock carb and I am not sure where I am at with the timing but will check and get back with you..
Thanks again
