snow and ice

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
Darn it, It has been snowing all day and I guess some ice has built up on the chimney. I started a fireplace and now have the darn smoke detectors going of, windows open in 10 degree weather and the house fan on. Crap, I don't want to go up on the roof....

Why wait till winter to get started on a fireplace? :craz :lol :lol

I had it going day before yesterday. This storm sucks. I did finally get the smoke out of the house and now the fire is going, the wood got a bit wet and is burning slow, but it is heating the house OK.

Daggone owl is the first thing I thought of. We used to get crazy winds in Boone (college) and it seemed like I had to open windows in the dead of winter once a week. The upside to it all was it allowed me an opportunity to get a nicotine fix inside the house.

You mean, like this?

May Santa shat in your stocking this year 'cause I just shat in mine. Holy begeezers I forgot how ugly that thing was.

We have 2 that have taken up year round residence now!

Well, I dug my truck out of a foot and a half of snow and due to the wind I had snow four feet in places. I went to the mailbox and got the mail and on the way saw a friend of mine who does all my tractor work for me. He does charge me, but less than the neighbors. He was playing with his new tractor in the snow.

I paid him $30 and he plowed my whole driveway for me. All I had to do was clear the walkway to the front door in case someone comes to visit. Not likely, I have only heard my doorbell go off for visitors a few times.

Man for an area that is supposed to get and average of 6-12 inches of snow we sure have been getting alot, last year 72" of snow and yesterday was at least 2'.

I moved from the heat 4 years ago. I don't think I even owned any long pants except for work.

I am happy to be here most of the time. I don't like to have to spend money to have the driveway cleared, but getting the exercise this morning was good.

I enjoyed riding the quads in my neighborhood even though it was 45 degrees. You can put clothes on to get warm and turn on the heat, but there is only so many pieces of clothing you can take off before you become obscene and still too hot.

I've had heat stroke four times, so the cold is way better.
