And to think, we used to make fun of a guy in high school because he had a '68 Fairlane that was not only a 4 door, but it had exhaust pipes jutting out from the sides of the car (made from flex pipe!), and tall shackles on the rear leaf springs. In retrospect, that seems mighty cool compared to that monstrosity!

One of my old neighbors back in Philly granddaughter back in the 70's was going out with a guy with a late 60's galaxy 4 door. First thing he did was raise the back up with air shocks and then paint the rear end white and then slapped a set of Thrush side pipes on it. The idiot thought it was fast and tried going after anything on the street that looked like it had muscle. Turned into a running joke when he went after a converted Vega. He not only got slapped around by the Vega but went into hiding until he showed up with a 70 Camero. Didn't go after anyone after that and just hung out int the girlfriends basement until she tossed him out.

Next panel showed him sailing through a busy intersection with the caption "Charlie here forgot one important thing when "Customizing" his car. BRAKES!" Taped that to that fools window one night while pulling out of the alley.
