You should see the Chevy 1500 silverado that was traded in ---205,000 miles, transmission is slipping, brake pedal goes to the floor, leather seats are torn up, rusted out on bottom of cab and it is a 2000 that had a sticker of over 30,000 new! Anybody need a good work truck? lol--here is how to advertise it--2000 chevy silverado 1500 super cab, two tone paint, leather interior with captains chairs, fully loaded,5.3 v8, this truck was over 30 grand new! come in today and drive it home for only $1995. actually it will never see the lot (thank God)
The weather this year is mild so far so I would have been likely still running, lets see--do I miss the frozen pipes?-no, the burning cold hands?-no, the wet cold feet?no, the finishing in the dark?, no, the walking around in the mud so heavy it exhausts you? no. The pay is less if I don't sell but now I am mainly indoors at a desk wearing dockers and company logo dress shirts-no ties- I think I am handling the transition well!"beach pony" said:Sounds like things are working out pretty good Rod. I know you don't miss climbing into that cold-ass mixer anymore. This is not the time of year for that is it?

I told the manager the day I started I was doing this because it was a personal challenge (I always thought I would like selling cars) To be 100% honest I never took this job for the money, we were making ends meet off the wifes income and I took some settlement money out of the bank when needed, I probably could make it to 62 when I can draw my teamster pension (if it still exists) and s.s. I really needed to get off my ass and do something, there were days when I never left the house other than to get the mail! I thought it would be great doing nothing but it wasn't. I am too much of an underachiever--I need a push once in a while."silverblueBP" said:Sounds like you really like the new career! Just remember, money's not everything.
