it could be like this. the whole bottom 8" of this car is gone. have it braced up & working one corner at a time..

this one is almost as bad as the 37 delivery i did a few yrs ago.

cut into the left front yesterday & the front floor pan & rocker actually fell off of the car in the process

what kind of car is it? (Mikey, I don't need a reply like 'It's a rustmobile')

its a 39 chevy. i call it "the soup sandwich"...

sad thing is, when he went to look at it, he called me & said that the A pillars were pulled loose from the floor. for some reason he forgot to mention that the whole bottom was gone.

I have heard some descriptions like that from sellers... "yeah it has some surface rust" and it look like the Titanic when you go look at it.

finally got caught up on some other stuff & have been back on this for the past couple weeks. finally got the rockers in place, made the floor pans & bead rolled them to match the fronts, extended the tunnel (had the front part from a previous build) & fabbed a new rear seat base/floor. raised the floor up under the rear seat to add room for the mufflers to tuck up under. i hate seeing exhaust hanging down under a car... thinking now that it might survive!

Looking good, you do marvellous work.

From infinity and beyond

was the body back on it when you were here or just the frame?

we made it official yesterday. i talked him into going ahead & letting me fabricate & replace the whole trunk floor so the whole bottom 12" of this car from front to rear will be completely new metal. the only thing below that 12" line that wont be replaced are two inside support brackets in the qtr panels. i'm only replacing the bottom 4" or so on those....
