Spark Plug replacement on:

Alum heads. I have never done this on alum. heads and I am alittle nervous. I tried to remove one plug and turned about one turn and then it gave me alot of resistance. Do you guys do it with the engine cold ,warm or hot. I don't want to pull out the threads. TIA

You'll feel some resistance which causes you to pucker. I've never broken one but have had the nerves going. I've always removed them with the engine cold but you may want to run it a little and let it heat up/cool down vs. a "cold" removal. Make sure you use anti-seize when putting them back in. Warm is a good temp. Hot is not.

I'll state the complete obvious, but make sure you install the spark plugs with your fingers instead of starting it in a socket. This will minimize chances of crossthreading.

and as mentioned earlier: make sure to use some anti-seize compound on the threads.

Make that lots of anti-seize. I coat every thread on the plug, and have never had one stick.
