Excuse the ignorance Mark, but what is the deal with the red thingy and no gas cap ???
That is the elec. shut off so when he gets to far from home, the wife can "pull the plug".....preventing PT embarrassment.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Seriously, it's the main kill switch, cuts all power in case I wreck or even worse, end up black side up :ep

It's required in vintage racing, but not open track....and since I originally built it for vintage, it's there. Since I have a fuel cell and no use for the filler neck, I made a modification to the neck and hid the switch there. When I drive it on the street, I have a short key that fits behind the gas cap.

It's a secret so don't tell anyone!

That's a shame, Mark. Where are the rock chips? Guess you baby it on the track. :lol

It took me 5 minutes to get that shot so the chips DIDN'T show up :ep

Mark,

I'm trying to tell from the pictures, but the shadows are making it difficult. Is your boat a jet drive?

Yeah, it was hard to tell if there was a prop down there in the shadows under the boat. Reason I ask is that I was looking at a Yamaha jet drive boat and was curious if there were any downsides to running a jet drive... especially in salt water. Thanks anyway.

Aw man, the blue on the bumpersticker was WAY off...I knew it would be, since I created the background color using different pictures of your car, and trying to average the colors, but I hoped to be closer...Oh well, still got a chuckle out of it. Too bad the guy in the P/T will never see it! :lol

It'll be interesting if anyone axes what it means! My reply will be poon tang chaser.

Dave, when I was looking, I found some less than stellar comments about reliability. None that I saw about corrosion, but that would be my concern - HTF would you adequately flush it after use in salt water. A I/O, outboard, or inboard, you can flush the water passages and rinse the outside (ie, all surfaces seeing salt). Not so sure about the jet pump - no real way to flush that monster that I saw.

OTOH, I drove a twin Yammy boat, and it does handle.
