Steering Wheel Squeak

I have a squeak when I turn my steering wheel. I think it can probably be fixed with a good helping of WD-40. However, I am concerned this may damage the horn. Any insight into this? If I spray some WD40 min the slot between the wheel and the column, is it safe? Thanks,

Lubricate the tips of the horn contacts and the ring on the backside of the steering wheel. I use dielectric grease. A little dab will do ya!

Derek,
Had the same problem when I picked up the goat and did exactly what Midlife suggests. Noise all gone.
