Stocking up the Smoker

Seeing as I couldn't sleep,I decided to head to Wal Mart at 6am this morning. Wife saw in their ad 2 15lbs bags of Kingsford Charcoal for $5.49 yesterday and today. Picked up the last 8 bundles they had out and the one kid who was working in the garden center said they were expecting a shipment in at 1pm. Might go back later on and pick up some more. Called the wife and she said she's stopping on her way home from work as she wants to pick up a sheetcake for work tomorrow snd will see if they have any left. I should be good for the summer. Looks like ribs on Thursday.

Your thread title misled me a little. I thought you meant stocking up stuff to put ON the smoker!

Ohhhh,road raccoon, thems good eten after a 12 hour smoke.....we're talking about a trip to one of the local farms that has an onsite slaughter house and sells beef and pork in bulk after Memorial day.
 
Hey, Hey, Hey...........I'm smoking this weekend as well. No not that [cough, cough] type but going to smoke some Salmon. My first attempt in the past 20+ years.
 
I haven't tried fish yet. One of my friends did a few lobsters on his and said they came out great. I'm going to use applewood in with the charcoal again. Another friend cut down an apple tree on his sisters land and has been drying it since September. Going to go later and pick up a few branches and some chunks he cut up.
