stuck in the ice

I'm out of town and I drove the Taurus to the airport. KY was hit with freezing rain, sleet and snow Sunday night and Monday morning early. My wife has informed me that both the 72 Chevy truck and the 99 Mustang GT are stuck! She can't get out of the driveway.

Did you guys get a lot of ice in Eastern KY? Tara says we got about an inch of ice then 2" of snow on top.

Yes and from work/school etc..
Schools have been closed. They already announced no school tomorrow. Her and the boys managed to get the car out of the driveway and stuck in the street.
Supposed to get above freezing tomorrow. Maybe the street will melt a little.

No school here tomorrow either. I'm beginning to think you could dump a cup of ice out at the school board and they would call school off lol.

It had been weird. One weekend its warm and sunny, the next we are shoveling snow.
And Bill, normally I would agree. We have in the past had school closed just on the prediction of snow. Now at least it is legitimate. We have had 13 snow days. Most were necessary. Largely because Logan County is one if not the largest county in KY and they simply can't get ALL the roads clear for the busses. But having grown up in Chicago I do find it humorous sometimes when we get a dusting that melts by lunch time and everything is closed!

Been cold here too.....heard a woman tonight say she wished someone would tell the weather it has reached Florida.....where it is supposed to be warm.

Ruh Roh, Tara can't leave the house? I hear walls coming down, better be ready to finish off a project when you get home Craig... :chair

Yeah, Jon has it right!!! She has been stuck in the house for three days now. Who knows what I will find when I get home! The house could be gutted!!!

Our Nashville "Snow Dome" held up pretty well, with just a little icing that went away pretty quickly. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I can't decide, my job site is 100 miles to the west of here, where they got 4-5 inches of sleet. With all of our work being outside, and now encapsulated in ice, we haven't been able to work all week. Should be able to go back tomorrow.

:ns Thanks fellas....

Taken Monday on my back deck, work from home day, too much ice to drive to work.

my wife is still stuck. She had to walk down to the end of the road so a friend could pick her up and take her to the store. They were running out of some food and supplies. The main roads are messy but passable. Our dead-end street still solid ice covered in snow. She called the city and they told her our street was way down on the bottom of the list for any snow removal. This is the longest we have ever had ice or snow on the ground. It is supposed to climb above freezing today so maybe it will start to melt but it was supposed to be above freezing yesterday too and it didn't make it. She is having cabin fever real bad. The schools are closed the rest of the week. I'm not sure I want to go home!
