Swapped out the electric fan for a new one today..same kind..what a difference it made. Now, I can hear it running plus the car stayed at 180 or less for two trips thru town. Found out the SPAL fan that was on the car was 5 years old. It was worn out plus that model had been upgraded. Very happy now and will soon be looking into A/C......

As a follow up, after a few trips across town to the Beach side in the heat of the day, it runs at 180 even after several close stop lights.... Very pleased.

So...if your elec. fan has some years on it, you might consider a replacement to keep the system good.

What size are you running now? Pusher or puller type? I thought SPAL's were about the best there is and would last 5 years or more, easy depending on use and/or controller type.

Pete, that's the same fan I installed when I did the aluminum radiator swap. It really works nicely. The car will idle all day long with the temperature at 180 degrees. Good information on fan life. I didn't know that.
Thanks,
Mark

I used the pusher version of that same fan on my Cuda and it sure is loud. I can hear it running with the doors closed and windows rolled up. The curved blade models are supposed to be quiter but dont have the CFM that the straight blades do. I really thought running a pusher and a puller was redundant but at low speeds and stop and go traffic makes a big difference
