switching from 6cyl to V8

I m new and I have a questions

1. do I need to swap to V8 hard lines or will the 6cyl ones do?

would it be easier to just order all the new fender and engine bay lines and the belly lines.

2. Im wanting to go either 8in or 9in rear end and and the rear end hard lines will be based on the rear end correct?

3. im wanting the coupe to be a street and occational SCCA solo car.. will the granada brake or the sn95 setup be ok?

4.since im needing to replace all of the suspension and steering for the swap what would be a good suspension setup..... ive been looking at the cobra auto set up for the manual steering trans am set up and not sure on the rest of the suspension

First, welcome. Second, nice looking Mustang you have there.

They are going to be basically the same, IIRC, the fuel line will be a bit larger for the V8 cars. If yours are 45+ years old, i would replace all of the hard lines

2. Im wanting to go either 8in or 9in rear end and and the rear end hard lines will be based on the rear end correct? An 8in may be easier to find, but a there are some 9's out there.

3. im wanting the coupe to be a street and occational SCCA solo car.. will the granada brake or the sn95 setup be ok? Check out the new setups that Shaun at street or track is offering, nice stuff and very affordable http://www.stangfix.com/testforum/index.php/board,40.0.html

When you order your brake lines be sure to order the lines for a dual exhaust set-up, assuming that is what you will be going with. Also order the flex line weld on bracket for the rear flex hose.

Go ahead and replace all the hard lines while you're under there...trust me. Your old ones will work but you might find a clogged fuel line and/or have some trouble making the old brake lines look like you want it when going to the new setup. You'll be running a dual bowl mc so you will just block off a port on the distribution block. Where are you located? I've got an extra 8" rear laying around. It's complete but will need to be cleaned and freshened. It's a stock 2.79 gear though. I would suggest 5 leaf mideye springs for the rear.

what would be a good list togo. im not sure about the tubular set up since its almost out of my price range

the open tracker setup would be awesome setup and what im looking at...

whats the difference in the rear leaf springs in the eye. im looking at either the cobra auto ones or the mustang plus

will the reverse eyes lower the rear end?

I have the Mustangs Plus Grab-A-Track 5 leaf standard eye springs on my car. The reverse eye will sit lower for sure. Standard eye is about stock or slightly higher and mid eye is probably where a stock sagging spring would be in height, just a guess though. The do settle, my car sat higher when I first put the springs on. When it's loaded down with kids and junk it sits lower too...

loaded (wife and two kids are in there with spare tire, tools, etc.):

Congratulations and Welcome! :pep

Here's what I remember~

I'd better (complete the sentence) do this while I have the motor out! :craz
This is great time to ___________________________ while I have the motor out!

Whatever you do, this is the best time to do it while the motor is out! and ching ching!
We're with you all the way! But it's challenging and fun!
