SWMBO and a new car!

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
This story has good and bad news!

(Uncle Vinny skip tot he last paragraph)

Last night amber and I were going over the finances since I really want a new car and was looking at a couple used Shelby's and Challengers.

Amber listened to me and after about three hours of my justification of why we need one of these cars, I thought I saw the thawing of the Grinch's heart. I was mistaken it was just gas! Hehehehe...Just kidding.

Well, we watched Dave Ramsey on the tube together kinda, When that was done we moved into the Master suite of our home and she actually started to have a discussion of the two cars plus the Camaro. Well after another hour, just when I thought I was going to get the go ahead for a=one of them, I got a curve ball!

She said let's spend the money on our Mustangs instead!

I was stunned! I was happy, even elated!

Bottom line for Vinny, (Dear Uncle skip the last part and just read this)(Toni is laughing right now) We are going to spend some serious cash on the 67 first and then the 65 and they will be the spare cars around here and the cars we drive in nice weather.

Now to go make a punch list and put a financial value to each one, then determine which are needs and which are wants.

Let us know the budget, we can help you spend it!!
+1

That's actually how mine finally got painted. When the 05's came out, I convinced my wife I had to have one. When the GT's were impossible to find or had a major mark-up, SWMBO suggested I just finish my 67! I'm glad we did. That's cool Mel!!!

What you need to do is convince your Dad that he needs a "new" Mustang.... and then just sit back a wait a couple years.

That sounds pretty cool Mel!

I am using the opposite argument. My boys will be nine in June so they will be driving in about seven years (scary thought there....).

I keep telling the wife the Explorer tips over too easy when a teenage boy is driving it so I need to trade it and get a newer Mustang that is a couple of years old. Maybe an '08 or '09. I usually keep cars somewhere around 10 years anyway so it would still be in good shape when the boys needed a car.

Argument hasn't worked as yet but rest assured I'll keep trying.

Strangely enough however, she is cool with me getting another project if I close a deal that I am working on that will make us a pretty nice profit and provided I find a place to store the Mustang...go figure? I've had my eye on several older muscle car type of cars so we'll see what happens.

Ah, well Dad is a Toyota man! We don't talk cars, politics, religion, or computers in his house during family get gatherings. Mom's rules!

I think he was referring to my dad. I seam to get his old stuff when he gets new stuff. I'm afraid if he buys a new Stang I'd have to wait until he passes and I'm not in any hurry for that!
he does have a nice 66 he has had since 85 or 86 he will trade for a nice F1 to tow his 8N

After an hour in the Bedroom with my wife, I can tell you I'm not getting any money for a car that's for sure! It will most likely be just the opposite!
All I can say is you ARE the Man!!! :)
