T5 shifter

Check out this shifter.

I got it from Rick in a box of leftovers.

He picked it up at Unique Performance auction.

It was pretty ugly before it spent 2 hours on the belt sander. All the edges were rounded over and the holes had countersinks.

I think I'll clear coat it and put it in the car with this shifter handle on it.

That should look pretty nice. Post a picture when you get it in. You may want to wait on buying the handle until you get it in there. I have a feeling that the angle may make it not so comfortable in 2nd and 4th gears. Could be wrong though.

I dunno Sluggo. You have any more stainless, or billet - or raw unfinished metal on the inside? If you're pretty stock - it may clash. Just my 2 pennies.

I want to see pics also. Do you have a consol? Will there be a boot?

If I don't like it I'll paint it black. If I still don't like it I'll put something else in. I just don't like the period correct lookin' units.

Nice. I haven't measured mine but its the stock Tri-Ax aluminum shifter. I don't think it's a full 6.5" back though, probably more like 4". I'm wanting to do the opposite, get a chrome hurst to replace it with a white Hurst 6spd knob :ecit I just can't seem to find one that isn't so friggin tall!

That is what I have. The B&M looks fairly close to the Triax

I am using a UPR Rock Crusher handle on my Steeda shifter. I like the location a lot. It is very comfortable. The only one that is a bit of a reach is reverse. It is located next to fifth gear on my 6 speed.

I like it, but then again, I went with the stock looking handle on my T-5 in the fastback.

Nice find!! You ought to break the sharp edges and put a .03 countersink on the holes for a more finished look.
