TCP Strut Rod and 1 inch sway bar - rubbing

All,

I have noticed that my TCP strut rod and LCA combo setup is rubbing my 1 inch sway bar. Has anybody had this issue? I did have the 1 - 1/8 bar and down sized to 1 inch bar. I have adjusted and re-adjusted. You get the awfull bump noise. Maybe extending the swaybar end links a bit? if so, what did you do to fix it?

Is the sway bar TCP as well? Pics of your actual set-up and the point of interference would certainly help to understand and possibly give suggestions for correction.

Hello Horseplay. No on the TCP bar. I will get some pictures. Yes, they do provide a better view!

Thanks

I've always thought the TCP strut rods should perform the best. Can we assume you did the Shelby/Arning drop? Daze has a good article on setting it up and alignment:
Hello Mach 1 Driver,

No on the 1 inch lowering. For the 71-73 Mustangs, it is not recommended to do the 1 inch Shelby drop since Ford changed the Upper control arm mounting points lower than the 64 thru 1970.

I did find one article where the thread author has a 67 mustang and has the same issues. He used the front sway bar end links from the 1995 thru 2002 Explorer to fix the problem. Sweet!

I will have pictures soon. I am going to email TCP support to see what they say.

Thank You,

All,
I finally got some pictures and it is not pretty. Not sure what to do. I hate reduce the size of the sway-bar. It is a Hellwig bar. I have emailed TCP support with the pictures. I may have to buy their bar. I forgot to mention that I have the one inch lower Detroit Eaton Coil springs installed. They are the factory spring rates.

TCP shows roll bar for 1970 thru 1973 Ford/Mercury and 1971-1973 Mustang. If you look at this YouTube from CJ Pony for a 1970 Mustang, you can really see the space between the TCP strut rod and roll bar.

All,

I received in my new TCP one inch sway bar and it fits much better. Here are some pictures. One thing though, is the mount block has 3/8 socket head bolts. This requires the frame bracket to be drilled out to fit the 3/8 bolts.
