Test Fit The Engine Today. Not Good

Thought I would drop the big block in the body today for a test fit before the chassis goes to the paint shop a week from Friday. This did not go good. With the valve covers I need to use the power booster for the brakes will not work. So I am looking at manual brakes. Then the headers hit on both sides of the shock towers. I think i can dent them to work but then I have a steering box problem. I planned on using the new Borgeson power box but I do not think I can get the headers to fit with it. So that may sit on the shelf and I go with a rack and pinion. Might be one thing after another getting the big block in.

Sounds like the headers are the problem rather than the big block. Sounds like you may have a lot of massaging to do with them.

:lol

It's a 69-70 Mach with an FE and a dynacorn body shell, IIRC. I agree with Dave, sounds like the headers are shiat.

It is a 427 FE into a 69 Dynacorn body. They are tight to begin with but I made it worse with my steering box, header and valve cover selection. I think the headers will work with a few dings but power brakes and power steering box may be out.
