The power of the car horn.

As funny as that was (it is was pretty damn funny) how scary is it to think there are plenty of drivers out there with that kind of skill behind the wheel?

The guy see the other dude crash and just keeps driving? What a douche bag. The other driver is just stupid. Not sure which is worse.....

guys with train horns on their trucks are just a bunch of little pricked douches. Besides, most are not true train horns (illegal to own) and are a poor reproduction of the real thing!

ps...anyone want a real train horn?

Just curious, where are "real" train horns illegal to own? And what are "real" train horns? They're all air horns, whether it's a Nathan 5 chime or a Leslie single. Same horns diesel trucks use (you just don't find too many of them with 5 chime units!). Improper use of a horn IS illegal...like what those jackwads were doing. I'd be puttin' them in the book in a heart beat!

With that said...got any old Western Pacific RR units?

Almost every component on a locomotive is federally protected. In order to operate a locomotive all of the parts must be in place and operable. The intent of the "protection" is to keep people from stealing them off the locos. This goes for the track structure as well. You can not legally bring in scrap rail or rail components to a scrap yard. That being said, yes I have had horns, bells and track stolen. Our locomotive horns are quite a bit larger than truck units and use way more air to blow. They are also federally regulated to the decibel rating...how long we have to blow....etc...etc..etc...

I don't think I have any old WP units, we did have a couple of former WP locos at one time, but I think the horns went with the locos when we sold them.

My neighbors 2 year old just learned what the horn button does. This weekend I was working on the Stang and someone started blowing the horn over and over. Had the garage door down so it wouldn't trip my welding shade and stopped to see who was blowing the horn. Look over in his drive and there he was behind the wheel with a big smile on his face. He would blow it anytime his dad would get close to the truck. That was a priceless moment for them.

Definitely not fun when you're riding a bicycle and some joker thinks it's a hoot to honk or yell at you as he passes!

Jackwads!
