Thinking of buying a 2011 F250 located in Buffalo, NY

looks sweet from all the web sites Ive seen it on. Anyone in the Buffalo area that could look at it for me before I go pick it up? Urgent !!

If you're in south Carolina, I would recommend finding one down there. That one has seen 5 years of upstate NY salt. It could be clean but it's been infected. Wouldn't doubt that the cab corners and rockers are already showing blisters.

You are correct, Ryan. I worked in Pittsburgh in the winter of 2010/2011 and they salt the hell out of the roads all winter. This truck has 34k miles and according to the salesman because it is a 2wd truck the owner didn't drive it in the winter. And its priced very right. Otherwise I wouldnt be shopping for a vehicle in that part of the country. I will reconsider what you you've said and perhaps pass on this truck. I don't need it but I need a truck.

Yep. Friend of mine did that with a Super Duty in Connecticut. Bought it on ebay, flew up and drive it. Great looking truck, just as described. Shame they didn't mention all the awful rust underneath. The rust was bad enough the bracket holding the fuel filter to the frame disintegrated rather than unbolt for a filter change. Stuff like that made him paranoid and he sold the truck. Still looked great as it drove away.

SWMBO has a 2003 F-250SD Crew Cab. She loves it and says there is nothing better than seeing a car with 'nothing but grill' in the car's rear view mirror.

2WD is ok for non snow states.....

I wouldn't trade my 2000 F250 SD, 4WD 7.3L for anything! 16 years old and the only rust is on the aftermarket nerf bars! And...it's lived it's whole life in the snow. The trick is to power wash the underside. 150K on the clock and it's only needed general maintenance over the years.

I found out this morning the truck I was very interested in has been sold. I called a friend/colleague in pittsburgh last night to chat and when I told him I would stop by on the way home he offered to check it out for me this week. Oh well.

There are more fish in the sea.

Several people told me I made a mistake by buying the 2003 F-250 as it was one of the first 6.0L turbo diesels. But our experience has been different.

Only issue has been the variable vane turbo clogged up to SWMBO driving so much city miles. I told her she needs to take it out on the Freeway n 'blow out the Sea Monkeys' once a week. She's on it n problem is solved....
