Thinking of relocating

Horseplay

I Don't Care. Do you?
Donator
Now that summer like weather has hit the Midwest, I am having some real thoughts of moving someplace warmer before another winter comes along. This past one seemed to last forever. If I'm to ever get my car back on the road having some extra months of warm weather might just be what I need.

I hear NC might be just what I need.

Last winter was so mild, but I know what you mean. The wife and I are trying to move somewhere warm too. We are going to visit florida and south Carolina in june to check it out.

Move to Central Kansas. That way, I could use your engine till I build my new one!

It's not much better than yours. Although the crank is in one piece. Needs rebuilt. PO didn't do the best at sealing it up and the cylinders got some rust. Never really cared too much about it as my plan is for something much bigger and badder.

being from Northern Illinois myself, I hear you! I don't know that Kentucky is my favorite place on earth but i do like the super short, super mild winters. I drive my Mustang year round. It rarely snows or is even below freezing in winter and I don't often have days where it's too cold to tinker. It does however, get real hot and humid in the summer but as I recall so did Chicago.

We moved from La. post Katina to escape the floods, heat, humidity, mosquitos, crime and only 2 seasons. I'm w/in an hour of Craig below him in TN. The weather is very bearable - 4 seasons, 1- 2" of snow for more than one day have been rare in the 6 yrs. we've been here and maybe a couple of weeks in the teens and 20's nothing a decent coat can't handle. I don't find the humidity a problem at all compared to La. or Tx, at least I can tell when I'm standing in the shade and there's almost always a wind due to the hills. I drove year round when my car was together and really enjoy the hills/ curves here.

If I considered moving now NC would be one of my first similar states to visit, there are different areas like any state (except MS...) and I think the winters are a little colder closer to the coast. We really enjoyed our drive down to Asheville area and the Biltmore, like TN there is lots of open space and farmland for sale I believe. 10 acres and a barn to restore in are my dreams...

OK, I'll bite. Kenya?
Referring to your avatar was my guess.

Remember that I'm a realtor in North Carolina
so PM me anytime with any questions. I'll be
glad to help.

If any of you hammerheads come to northeast SC, give me a call and I'll buy ya lunch and give ya the grand tour!

Why not Southwest Virginia (we are not part of the rest of it)? Nothing here but a bunch of gun toting Rednecks and 4 wheel drive pickups, cows, horses, cows, horses and cows. Great place to live. :hide

I may take you up on that. I'll be in Charleston June 9-11th and we will probably shoot up to myrtle beach one of those days.

Damn. Now I'm thinking of moving!

The Pacific NW is great. You still get 4 seasons but they are mild. Humidity is low but you still get some nice weather in the summer. Spring is a little wet but it gives us beautiful green summers that you won't get if you move to the financially insolvent state to the south. :hide In my opinion Boise is the best place I have ever lived. I currently live outside of Portland, OR and it is a close second.

Just let me know! I can usually slip away from work during the week most days.
