:roul I am just about in more fricking pain than before the surgery! Surgeon said to wait 6 months and then see how it is (only been 3). He said I could ease back into my normal daily routine. All I did was shoot at a stupid buck deer last week with the old 30.06...just damn, I knew that was a bad idea. I missed too, pulled up badly because I knew it was gonna hurt. I had carefully been watching his scrapes and timing when he was coming....at around 0630 and was waiting behind some downed trees from the tornado last spring. Couldn't have been any more perfect of a setup. Wish I still had some tree stands but they are all destroyed or stolen by the loggers from the property below ours. They stole 6 of my neighbors stands also. Bastard thief's. Anyway, here he comes plodding along up the scrape line with his head down sniffing for the doe scent I had dripped from the bottle for him. He sure wasn't paying any attention to me. I sighted on him and when he raised his head to look, I let 'er fly...right over his head. He hauled ass and I dragged my dejected ass home after checking for any blood all around the area. I left the game cam setup to see if he will come back after a week. My experience has been they will come back...but only before daylight or way after dark. They learn rather quickly about being shot at...lol. I will try one more time on Friday or Sat after checking the game cam Thursday night ( just sneak in after dark and pull the sim card). It has been many years since I've been skunked. Guess I'll be in for another round of neck pain or being a pain in the neck.

This neck healing ain't going so well!

Sorry to hear that the neck isn't going as hoped. I have to admit my heart thing is pretty much healed, I go to exercise therapy 3 times a week, do 20 minutes on a treadmill at just over 3 mph, 22 minutes on stationary bike, 5 minutes on rowing machine, 5 minutes on a eliptical then light weight work on legs and arms---I know that is nothing for hard core exercisers but I could not do 2 minutes on treadmill in sept. I hope yours comes around, nothing much more depressing than constant pain!

It has gotten to the point these lortab 7.5's aren't doing the job anymore. I try not to take too many, but damn! This is getting beyond annoying for sure. Guess I am going to have to give up deer hunting for this year (only about 5 days left when I am off again). I don't think most people understand that you can't get away from the pain no matter what position or twisting or what ever to try to relieve it. My wife can tell when it's really bad because she says I can't sit still...moving twisting around etc. People I talked to that had this operation said it was nothing and I'd be over it in a couple of months...BS! :char I am beginning to wonder if because it is cold weather or cold and raining it somehow affects that titanium plate thingy that he put in there to stabilize after hacking up the disc and putting the slice of bone to hold the disc height properly. watch that if you have the stomach for it, it shows the real deal. I wish I hadn't watched before the surgery....lol. Yeouch.
