A few days ago or last week, can't recall. I took the rims and tires from the 65 over to a tire shop where some guys I know work. I wanted the old junk tires taken off the rims. Anyway, I picked them up in the Mustang. The guys all egged me on to do a burn out when I left so I obliged. When I got to the end of the street a Sheriff's car comes around the corner sees all the smoke and the black marks and I'm sitting at the stop sign, no one else around. It was a woman cop. She just gave me the dirty look and nodded her head in a "no" and kept on driving. I thought I was in big trouble ther for a moment!

That sounds like me. Several years ago we had an '01 GT vert. We (wife, daughter, myself) had been out to dinner at one of our favorite spots back in Az. We knew all the staff at this place and several bugged us to leave the parking lot in style... Well, I smoked the tires and had a nice drift going across the lot and left into the drive to leave. As I stopped before pulling onto the street, there sat one of the local patrols...... He pulled in and saw the smoke/marks right up to my tires.....asked me to park again.....chewed me out about the display.....and told me to be careful.....and commented "cool". I think the worst thing was my 30+ daughter laughing in the back seat. She still reminds me about it.

You guys must be a Redneck. A few years ago, like 10, I was returning late one night from a cruise in and thought the KR needed a good clean out. So just before our subdivision there is a pretty good straight that works great to clean out the exhaust, no houses or anything to hit besides maybe a cow. I looked to the front and seen nothing and to the rear and seen the glare of a cars lights around a distant curve, like 400 yards back. So after leaving the 45 MPH and the town limits I let it go. The ole Shelby belched a little then broke traction and ran up to about 90 in just a few seconds. I then quickly let off and dropped to the 55 posted speed limit. At no time did the cars light ever come into view in the mirror and I only just knew it was back there. As I turned into the subdivision I seen a car go sliding past the turn off. Being a little interested what kind of idiot would do such a thing I had all but stopped. I watched the car quickly back up and then came the blue lights. Crap I was had. As the Trooper walked up to my window I noticed he was shinning his flashlight more on the car than trying to see me. He ask "what was you doing blowing her out?" I responded "yes sir, I was." He said "alright, you went to 45 to 90 in about three seconds and radar was not keeping up." I thought here comes the big ole "Reckless driving" ticket but the talk quickly changed into car talk. After about 5 minutes of talk and raising the hood I was let go. Thank goodness he was a car guy. I was told not to do it again with a smile on his face. :no
