Time to go under the old knife.

Looks like my knee injury will be cramping my Mustang Work. The MRI that I had last week showed that the cartilage in my left knee is in bad shape. I am just waiting for the scheduling nurse to call to set the date. This will be arthroscopic to clean out the derbies and smooth the cartilage out.

I figured sooner than later to get it done. I hope I can recover (they said 4 weeks) in time to finish the work I want to do to get the Mustang ready for my son's wedding.

I'm ordering you a ScooterChair right now!

Good luck on your surgery, and milk your convalescence for everything you can get!

Been there done that on one knee, wasn't too bad, the velcro on ice pack is a savior. My only mistakes were going to ChuckECheeze for a kids bday party on crutches (little missles!) and the wife catching me in the garage when I was supposed to be on the sofa with the leg up. Follow their instructions, you can get a blood clot if you don't leave it raised enough which is actually bad!
Is this your first?
Good luck,
Jon

This is what my son had at 23 as a reward for playing Rugby League at school.
When he came out after 3 1/2 hours his keyhole surgery had turned into a cut that required 36 staples to close it and 13 weeks on crutches, but he is good now.
Good luck to you.

Ouch. :sad Good luck and hope you have a speed recovery!

Shame on you! Reminds me of my husband when he had ankle reconstruction surgery few years back. He was in a cast, and had to use crutches... military dr's actually gave him good pain pills so he was feeling pretty good. At the time we lived in a 2 story townhome and I didn't want him to hurt himself so I forced him to stay on the sleeper sofa. Caught his butt a few times walking around, and going up the stairs on his crutches. :po

BTDT. Follow the instructions. Also, my Doc got me a cold wrap that circulated water through an ice chest filled with ice - worked wonders for the swelling (I basically had none).

Just got off the phone with the surgery scheduler. July 16 is the cut day. So I have 3 weeks to get some more done on the Mustang. Now I just need to figure out what I can do without squatting since that is what I can not do without intense pain.

I had one of those cooler thing 6 years ago when I had surgery. You only rent those thing and I had to turn it back in. I take some pictures of it in 3 weeks.
