Tire Advice and dealer recommendations

Hey all.
As i am ordering all the drivetrain parts for my car I am going to order some tires so I can sit it down to see how she will looks and check alignement before paint.

I am using the PSE WHeels
Front Rims 17x 8 4.5" Backspacing
Rear Rims 17x9.5 5.75" backspaing

I am thinking something like a 275/40 R17 out back and a 235/40 r17 up front. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I am using a Mustang II front setup with Wilwood brakes all round.

Where is best place to buy BF Goodrich G-Force tires or similar...They are a crazy prices over here and i have a container leaving the USA in 3 weeks.

A Michelin Pilot sport 2 - 275/40 r17 is $412 (€250) over here

Any ideas on prices state side?

Thanks,

Johnny

Johnny, for reference (since you saw them), the tires on Joe's car are Goodyear Eagle DS-F3's.

Same tires I'm running, 275 40's on 17X9.5 in the back, and 225 50 on front with 17X8 rims.

For those Goodyears does $300 per back tire sound about right?

I bought the back two tires from tire rack, I talked the guy at discount tire into price matching tire rack on the front two.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's are some amazing tires. They're 'summer only,' but they seem to work decent in the rain thanks to a good directional tread design. My roommate had them on his '97 WS6 T/A and we loved them. That car stuck to the road like glue, even at 140mph. Just keep an eye out for defects, as GY isn't quite as good about that as Michelin/BFG. We had one show up at our apartment (from TireRack) with a crease in the tread belts once.

BFG G-Force KDW's are another good option. Not quite as expensive a the F1's iirc, but still a good tire.

Michelin Pilot Sports are another great tire, but tend to be very expensive. They'll definitely ride and handle very well, and they'll probably be one of the quietest tires you'll find.
