TKO600 swap into 67 with 429

Which 5th gear did you get? I went with the .64 and really wish I would have gone with the .82.

The rpm drop between 4th and 5th makes my 460 very unhappy. So I end up only using 5th over 65mph. I have 3.50 gears, so I may change to 3.89's or 4.11's.

I wish you luck with the conversion. I had to raise the tranny tunnel 1.5 inches for good driveline angles. But I am using the MPG mounts, and I don't have the shaved tranny.

I bought the .64. I have 3.25 gears now but plan a 3.70 swap.
How do you like it otherwise? Shifts okay? first too low? anything else? I can't wait to get it in!

thanks, I have heard that about the shifting. Did you do the install? what's it in? Any issues I should look out for?
thanks for your input

Yes, did it all myself. The only issue was having to raise the trans tunnel, but that was probably specific to my situation with the MPG mount and headers. And no one was selling the shaved trans back then either.

Mine is a 69 coupe. If I can be of any help, please ask!

Can't wait until you get this done. I want to drive it :) this will bea completely different car than the manual steering auto I drove a few years ago.

Well this has been a long slow process. But I did work on the car a little today. Pulled auto shifter and brake pedal. Started the modification of the pedal and support.

Hey dad.

Not for a guy of your talents lol. Mine was pretty wallowed out so I had to weld the washer to the support.

since mine is an auto brake support it's in pretty good shape. Just not looking forward to remove it so I can cut out the bushings!!!
