To the darkside I go.....

I couldn't resist this new project although it may cost me some friends here....today I bought a 1975 Hurst Olds W25. The car is very solid with only 41k original miles. The paint is very oxidized and the interior neglected but only needing some minor stitches and some good cleaning. The car is one of only 2,535 built and they were available as W30 and W25 in white or black so for easy figuring 600 of this particular were produced.

Mine is Black but I'm including a picture of the white version as well because it really shows the curves of the body. I'm planning on keeping it stock with the possible exception of doing "ghost" striping and lettering as well as changing the stock wheels.

The car also came with all the original paperwork that I will post later if folks are interested.

Opinions welcomed!

Old iron is old iron man. I wouldn't mind an early 70s nova. I'll probably inherit my grandfather's late 70s El Camino. That's if my greedy, dumbass cousins don't whine about wanting it. I'd take care of it and drive it. They'd just tear it up then sell it.

Nice, does yours have the rotating seat like the black one? One of my customers has a 76 Monte Carlo with that option. Pretty cool!

Although we are a Mustang group, most of us are true car guys and can appreciate other peoples engine driven interests. Post away on this car.

The car is black and it does have rotating seats....not really sure of the purpose....I will post the window sticker in a day or two.

I picked it up for 2750 and think I did pretty good for a somewhat unusual car....

Thanks for the great responses.

That's cool. At least its not a firechicken.

The best car I ever owned was a 70 Olds. Funny you mentioned firechicken, I was just looking and someone almost convinced me

The title to this post reminded me that about 4 years ago, some considered this site the "dark side". ....

As a Belgian dude , I don't always share the same taste as Americand do but that chick.......I like . Oh......the car too !!! ( didn't see it on the background )

My sister had a 75 cutlas--light blue metallic--white interior, swivel buckets, sun roof, it had the chromed version of their ralleye wheels, I think they called it a midwest special or something--I would love to have a nice one of those classics--nice car.

It's all about having fun. I love those. Enjoy the dickens out of it! And post some pictures as u go.

Here's a scan of the original window sticker. it's amazing what the Hurst package did to the price of the car, that same year the 442 package was less than a $ 200.00.

Understand that the black car shown at the beginning of this thread is not the actual car I purchased. Mine will take some work to get it to that point, but all is original and complete. I am going to have it hauled to my mechanic in a couple of weeks to get a feel for how much the mechanics are going to take. I will post pictures of the actual car then.

The show of support from StangFix has me really excited about this project!

Merry Christmas all!

Pivot seat was GMs attempyt at easy entry. Didn't really catch on.

One of the auto fix-up TV shows had a like prodcut which they cut the bumpers slightly and tightened them up closer to the body. Really improved the look. Got rid of those plastic tray spacers between the bumper and the body.

Nice car. :thu
