There were 2 terrible accidents in the county (knox)where I live. They were both with in 10-15 miles from me, a 50 year old man had his son drop him off at a lake where he was going ice fishing, the son had something to do and left, when he returned the hut his dad was fishing from was partially submurged through broken ice, they later pulled his dads body from the lake--the ice was only 3/4 " thick--I won't consider fishing on less than 4 inches of ice.
The other is unimaginable, a father/son and another person were hunting the last season for deer, father was on one side of a woods, the other person was in the middle trying to flush out deer and the son (34 ) was across, a deer jumped up and the father shot and missed the deer and the bullet struck the son in the head killing him instantly--they were not even in sight of each other--large distance apart---really freak accident. I heard the dad has since attempted suicide--lots of rumors/stories so I am not sure, I can not even imagine how he feels. I did not know either person. Still so sad.
