Trans Cross-member 67/68 vs 65/66?

I think they are transmission specific and I doubt they are interchangeable. I could be wrong since both my cars have 5 spd trans in them and aftermarket cross members.

I've got a 67/68 for a C4 and a friend needs one for a C4 for his 66. Wondering if he can use the 67/68 cross-member in his 66...

Well according to my NPD catalog, they sells two different cross members for C4 application for 65-66 vs 67-70

it can be used, but will need a spacer on each side where it mounts to the body crossmember. the body crossmember on the pre 67 cars was a little narrower than the 67-up.

I took it over to him and that's what we did, put some spacers in there...
