Trans out of the 93

As if I didn't have enough going on, Lucas, my 15 year old, decided he wanted to start on the 93. My older son had borrowed it and the trans went out. So last night and tonight after school my boy and I pulled the trans. Now we are going to take it apart.

What kinda trans is it? It's a 4 cyl car right? I'm not sure whether that's an AOD or not.

I've never messed with one of those. I've rebuilt a 350t and aod before. Cleanliness is the key and make sure any steels are still flat if your putting new clutches in it.

So are you going to do it yourself? I have never done an auto trans and have wondered how hard it was.

Yes. Me and the boy. I rebuilt a C4 back in the day. I figure it will be a good experience for him.

Does 'BadShoe' make a DVD for that one? I've heard good things about their videos. I've never done anything more than install a shift kit vavle body in an auto, however I've never done more than a clutch change on a manual either.

Missed you at the swap meet, I stole a set of VC/air cleaner for a '65 from under Joey's nose while he was on his phone for $20 :yah.... well I'm going to give him the air cleaner since I don't really need it.

I used a BadShoe video to rebuild my T5. Great video and even better support.

I've done two of the aod's with the badshoe video. Only tool I had to have was the seal protectors off of ebay. He shows you how to make any other stuff you need and upgrade the major components. I don't know about the newer trannys, good luck with the project. Will be watching to see how this project goes, give us updates on how many times you have to whack him in the head to keep his attention focused on this....lol :part
