Transmission ?'s

I've noticed my car could use some performance upgrades in the transmission department. I thought about a shift kit but honestly replacing the valve body sounds a lot easier.

I was kicking around buying these two items:

They don't sound that difficult to install but I am not sure if I'd need to adjust the bands and things of that nature. I am guessing the valve body alone probably wouldn't require any adjustment but the servo might?

If I recall for the bands you tighten the adjuster to 10 pounds then back off 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 turns and hold while tightening the locknut. Does that sound about right?

Installing a shift kit is pretty easy. I went through mine several years ago. It was as easy as replacing some springs, move a check ball, and drill out a hole.

I just rebuilt the wife's tranny, and IIRC -- the front and rear bands are adjusted a little different. If someone doesn't get you the exact specs by the time I get home, I'll check out the manual and get you an answer.
