Any body got one or ever used one? Looking to cruise down the highway better with out loosing my low end. I've got a 302 with a 3 speed. Vin shows it has 2.89 gears. Runs around 3000 at 65.

Out of ignorance I ask the first question now about the t-5 does the shifter come throughout the floor at the same place?

I had a gear vendor in a truck once. I loved it. worked awesome! when I needed low gears I had them, when I needed high gears I had them. If I wanted I could use six forward and two reverse gears.

Now the T5 is cool, I have one in the 67 and it has a stock looking gear shifter and is nice. The 65 has a TKO which IMHO was worth the extra money! I really love that transmission! It has a lower first and second gear and a higher overdrive than my T5.

I also put a tracloc in the 65 with lower gears. (3:53 i think). the 67 has the stock 3:00 gears.

The 67 does get better mpg at 80 mph than the 65, but the 65 is much better off the line!

Mel, what gear ratio are you running for your overdrive gear in both the 67 and 65? My T5z's 5th gear is a .63 which for me is almost a little too high. Wish sometimes it was .68

My t5z gearset will have the 2.95 first and a .58 fifth. With 3.73's I think this will be awesome on the highway cruising. What is your rear gear Craig?

Bill

.58 in the 65 TKO. Not sure about the 67. It's been so long ago. 12 years I think.

You've got a cruiser gear for sure. I wanted a little more grunt.

Uhhh...not exactly. They usually end up toward 1:30 in the shifter hole. I clearanced mine a little bit only to find when everything was tightened down that it wasn't necessary. :dun

GearVendors is expensive. Gtscode installed the GearVendors in his and he loves it.
