I see on the Interweb that is heading towards Florida.
I hope all the Stangfixers stay safe.

Actually hitting the New Orleans area.....on the 7th ann. of Katrina hitting the same spot. We are good here in the Panama City area. Thanks for the concern.

Hit hard in the keys ;)

Called my parents to check on where they're going, they are staying put in their house on the Westbank, 20 min. from downtown N.O. - Stubborn Dutch heads at 82yo....well at least I can say their house has never taken water in the 46 yrs. they've been in it, dad's an engineer and picked his lot with a topographical map in '65. Still I'm watching TWC for them and my brothers who live there still. I got out after Katrina and don't miss running from at least 1 hurricane every year.

I'm looking forward to some rain. Won't be here till Thursday/Friday.

That is what saying is the silver lining to this storm. It will give some rain to the drought stricken areas. :hs

We need as much as we can get. The Mississippi river is so low, barges are running aground in Greenville. They've been dredging like mad.

It seems the local predictions are way off..... We have had a few 5 min. sprinkles and no wind to speak of vs the predicted 30 mph wind/50 mph gusts and hard rain all day. They even closed the schools today, many county offices, and both military units here. Hope the restaurants are not to packed for lunch out today. Even looking out for rain coming in is slim. Oh well...on with life.

It's been sunny all morning, no rain, winds about 15 mph. Big deal...but the local weather forecasters are predicting doom and gloom. One said "It's a very windy day!"

Doom and gloom is good for profits. Gas jumped 25c gallon in Detroit because a few oil platforms may have to shut down.

Its only a Category 1. :shrug Not sure why the media is making Isaac out to be some big bad storm. The way they are reporting the storm, makes it sound like it was another Cat 5 hitting the south. Maybe it's just because its on the 7th anniversary of Katrina and/or large, like 400 miles across?

Hell, I use to drive around in hurricanes when I lived in Pensacola. :steer Bars were still open and I was going to get my hurricane party on!

They just wanted to warn the Rep Convention so the toupees and high bee-hive hair of those there would take cover.

Talked to my parents and texted a friend on the westbank (just across the MS river bridge from downtown N.O.), they were both without power most of the day and probably still today. My dad didn't pull his old Katrina generator out until just before the rain started so of course it didn't start...they'll lose everything in the fridge and freezer probably. The storm dropped the temp. a bit so they were ok to sleep with the windows cracked. Now Mom wishes they would have driven to our house in TN which we offered....
Some heavy flooding reported but none of my relatives so far that I know of, haven't heard from my brother in St. Charles Parish who was under manditory evac. but stayed so don't know if he flooded.

Just checked with most of the local strip clubs who plan to stay open for business, so I really don't see any real threat, except for maybe a couple disease's.
