So I was mowing the yard and my neighbour suddenly came running over and said STOP. I quickly shut the tractor thinking there was some major emergency at his house. To my surprise he said that there was a huge ball of bees on the ground between the cypress trees. If he hadn't stopped me this is what I would have ran over and I'm sure they would have went on the attack. I called a friend that keeps bees and he made the recovery. I'm guessing there were about 5 lbs of bees and maybe two Queens.

I posted a pic of the same thing last year--the ball was in a tree here--2-3 thousand bees.--I also called bee guy who came and got them--I was 2 feet from hitting them head high.

I am not like Duane with Owls[nb]running out of the room screaming and crying :nut[/nb] when it comes to bees, I just do not like them or the thought of being stung. So something like that is not a thing that I want to experience.

I got stung yesterday. It's too early for these kind of things. Hope it's not going to be a horrible summer.

I'd rather be stung by bees than having a visit from my MIL...

Bees don't bother me. As long as you leave them alone there don't care about you. Wasps I hate, those little suckers attack. We get a lot of those here. I have at least 3 wasps nests a year I have get off my house. I got stung in the back by one while driving a couple years ago in my jeep. Had the top down and leaned back and felt something stab me in the back. Pulled over and saw a small wasp stuck to my seat back.

Yep I have bees and wasps around my house. The wasps are a pain to get rid of. I paid a local bee specialist to tell me there's nothing he could do since the primary hive isn't on my property and he couldn't see it anywhere else.
