Using a Granada Prop valve on a 65-66 with OEM KH disc

A couple of questions on using a Granada Prop valve on a 65-66 with KH OEM disc .
1. What is the function of the switch on the valve? I assumed that it was to operate the brake light. But recently I heard that it was to detect problems in the difference of pressure between the front and rear lines.

2. What are the pro's and con's of using the Granada prop valve without putting an inline prop valve for the rear brakes vs just using the Granada prop valve alone?

The switch is indeed to indicate a system malfunction. It's basically and on/off switch which, IIRC, is activated by movement of a shuttle valve in the proportioning valve. If the shuttle moves off center (backwards or forwards), it closes the switch and turns on the "brake" light on the dash.

Thanks ponyman66. I was hoping that it was a brakelight. My 64 1/2 has the switch on the MC so I will have to get the pedal switch. More work

We don't use those valves at all. The front brakes ( from the rear bowl of the MC ) go to a ' T ' and then to both front wheels. The front bowl goes to a adjustable prop. valve and then out back to the rear brakes. That Granada valve will just make for more plumbing IMO.

thats a neat idea will it work on 4 wheel disc brakes?

How do you go about adjusting the adjustable prop. valve?
