Uuumph!!!

No. LOL

We did sell 2 cars last week though! :thu Granted both were comission cars. The 1990 Vette I drove to a car show and won 1st place with, and the boss' 2000 Mustang GT.

Oh yeah... did have an intersting lunch today.

I get a call from my daughter at home saying there's a police man parked in our driveway and he was knocking on the door. She said he was there a few minutes. I was like well open your bedroom window a little and ask what he wants. Being 16yr old girl at home with no parent, I'm sure the police officer would understand her not opening the door. Well she said he was leaving now but left something on the door. Hmm ok, I tell go get it and tell me what it is. She said 'arrest warrant" and I was like :wtf I'll be home in a minute. So I lock up shop and go home (5 min at most away) to see what this paper was.

It was this... :wth

ummm... HOLY CRAP! On the other side it says to:

Jane Doe (for privacy, I won't post her name)
C/O Jason West
our home address
Please call Marshall So&So
phone #

Ok neither me nor my husband recognized the name of the lady and was like who the hell is that and what connection does this lady have to my husband???? So my husband calls the number, and well it turns out its the lady who bought our Firebird on July 8th. They have her name, but when they ran the plates, its still under my husbands name. Anyway, I guess she got some traffic tickets and failed to appear in court on 3 different times and now there's a warrant for her. The lady on the phone, said just bring in the bill of sale to the tax/title office and they'll get it all straightened out.

I about had a heart attack when I saw that paper. :rant

He got 9k on the Mustang. His asking price was 10,5...

Something like that would freak me out if I was at work and got that call.

My father in law had something similar happen a few years ago. He sold a car and didn't take his plates off. Small town trust I guess. Next thing he knows cops show up at his house about unpaid tickets and fines. Turns out the guy never registered the car and was driving around for months with the old plates on racking up tickets.

I had bought a '79 Jeep in Az in '95 or so and had a county sheriff show up at work telling me I was in possession of a stolen vehicle, took the jeep and wanted to arrest me.....24 hours of hell to clear it up....but he was right in the long run....and I avoided being his guest.

Maybe I should pretend to be this lady so I can get put in handcuffs, and hopefully frisked, by a hot police officer? :confu

I bet one of the perverts around here could land a set of cuffs and a police uniform.... :roll

I thought when you sold a used car these days you were supposed to keep your plates to make sure the buyer changes the title. That said, I drove the Trans Am home with the PO's plates on it. Went to the tax office to change the title and they said I could just use the plates that were on the car.

When we bought the Lexus, the Chevy truck, and the Firebird they all came with plates. None of the PO kept them. We just did the title transfer and stuff after we bought it.

I do know you only have like 30 days after you buy a vehicle to get the transfer done. Since her 'violations' were in mid July (a couple weeks after she bought it), I guess the transfer hadn't gone through yet or she still hasn't done it yet.

I always notify MVD about a sale of any vehicle...that clears my name off the record as the current owner.

Almost time to go home... have to play on Facebook. For those who aren't friends ... well here is my recent status. I love my mother. LOL

Exactly what kind of forum would you two have been on where sending another man padded handcuffs seemed appropriate? :homo
