Value question

A friend of mine is looking to put his car out there to sell and has no idea where to start on the price. He's the original owner of a 79 Capri. It has about 30k miles as he rarely drove it and turned it hot rod and just stored it. It's the original 302 that was built up by Keith Johnson(?) as he was just starting to build for Pro motor engines for ARCA. I told him to start at 6K because most of the value is tied up in being his first brand new car. Am I close?

You can always come down, and never go up. If its as clean as it looks, i'd start around 8 and end up north of 6k.
