Varmints have invaded the home!

Here's the story...SWMBO went out and bought a bunch of veggies, herbs, and stuff to begin a garden on the back deck in pots. Everything was in by Friday. Saturday, we noticed the lettuce had been nibbled, and today, it was eaten to the roots. SWMBO finally figured out the culprit: the two Australian Shepherd dogs, which just happen to love leafy greens. I'm laughing my ass off, and she's screaming at the dogs. I still think it is funnier than hell!

That is funny.

So, I guess you are spending time in the garage to avoid laughing in front of her......

No surprise there, our German shepherd has always been a nibbler over the 2 foot high fence around our vegie garden.
Carrot tops, Capsicum, Parsley, Snow Peas & Grass.
Vet said its good for her digestion as the Shepherd breeds have delicate stomachs.
This year she added a new item to her menu while we were in Vietnam.
We came home to find she had eaten 12 stalks of Corm, including the cobs and the leaves!!
Now she is called the Corn Dog.

Our dogs just love carrots, as well as broccoli stems, rice, tortillas, and just about anything that drops off the table. The do turn up their noses at zucchini, which shows they have discriminating tastes.

Our two Germans love veggies. I have been burying 'green waste' - potato peelings, carrot peelings, onion skins, avocado skins, etc in the garden and it's helped bring the earthworms and enhance the soil tremendously.

However, once in a while, 'the dig' occurs when we're gone for the day.

I also have seen my female German Shephard pick a bell pepper and yellow pear tomatos right off the plants...
