VCM parts run

First, thank you to those who serve.

I had the day off, so my 2-year-old played hooky from daycare, and we made a parts run to Virginia Classic Mustang. It is a 200-mile round trip so I probably blew any savings on shipping on gas but I also wanted to see the 65-66 repro door shells in person and got the chance to do that (didn’t purchase, not ready for that yet).

We also stopped at Luray Caverns on the way home to check out the stalagmites and stalactites… Pretty good day….

It is fun though to go in person just for the experience where parts vendors are concerned. I've never been to VCM but I have been to John's Mustang in Houston and plan to make it out to Mustang Mania in Katy sometime soon.

By the time I drive the 60 - 70 miles round trip to John's I probably haven't saved anything on small items...on those I just have them shipped. But the once or twice I've needed larger sheet metal pieces like floor pans or radiator supports and fender apron it was worth it to take the drive if nothing else just for the experience of actually being there, seeing the warehouse, etc.

Only catch with John's is I strongly recommend taking a pistol, it isn't in the best part of town, LOL!

Cool, what did your 2 YO think of the caves?
She seemed to enjoy it. They had a wishing well for coins, which she really liked. Pretty amazing, they drain it once a year and give the money to charity. They raise around $150,000/year.

She told her Mom all about it tonight so I think she had fun...
