Now normally I wouldn't be phased by this but this involves my children and mother in law. My inlaws live in Buffalo TX about 30 min from Palestine and that walmart is the main one my mother in law goes to. My kids have been visiting her for the past week and last night they went to Palestine for movie or something and stopped at Walmart on the way home to go school supply shopping. They were there when it happened.

Luckily they weren't in the front of the store. My mother in law said she thought she heard a gun shot but it was loud and could have been just something falling. Then a few employees were rushing around all over the store, then they they told my mother in law to leave the cart, take the kids and get in the back of the store. My kids weren't scared at all. Turns out my son was trying to sneak a peek at whatever was going on, and my daughter was all excited saying how she couldn't wait to get back to the house to email her friends that she was at the store when the robbery happened. :ep

Glad everyone was out of harm's way. Funny how the kids see it as something exciting. [geezer] Must be all that crime and shoot 'em up the kids see on TV and the movies nowadays.[/geezer]

:)

Seems like Wally Worlds are getting worse all the time. Glad all is ok....even with the nosy kids..lol

Local one 5 miles from me & 1/2 mile from my daughters house, has had a loaded 9mm in a drug deal and 2 purse snatchings in the last week.....all during mid day shoppers trips.

I was not at that Walmart, dammit!

"Darkins, meanwhile, was arrested approximately 2 1/2 hours after the alleged offense at 12:27 a.m. Friday after officer Jeremy Jenkins discovered him hiding in a dumpster under several layers of trash in the 300 block of Old Elkhart Road, according to authorities".

The officer should have fired a few rounds into the dumpster, then said "anyone in there?" :eek:mg

any indication that the perp left the scene at a high rate of speed while driving a restomod yellow 1968 mustang convertible? Can anyone account for PJ's whereabouts during the robbery?
