Watching LeMans with Steve McQueen

I'd love to go to this race someday. Movie didn't have much of a plot, but the race scenes are awesome. Alittle before it's time with the way it was filmed and it just rocks the surround sound.

About the same way I feel about the original Gone in 60 Seconds. The plot is nearly nonexistent, but the chase scene is epic.

Another great vintage film with outstanding race scenes (and a plot too) is Grand Prix from 1966 with James Garner and Yves Montand.

Steve Mcqueen was soo cool! I read last night that he was a pallbearer at Bruce Lee's funeral along with James Coburn and Chuck Norris.

On the to get list for the summer- The Blu Ray versions of Grand Prix and LeMans.

As for the plot lines of the original Gone in 60 seconds, Saw that as part of a triple feature in 77 at a New Jersey Drive in along with 2 Lane Blacktop and Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry. Wasn't supposed to have a plot line,I think they were more intended to be time killers. I think the only guy who took the original Gone in 60 seconds seriously was the guy who made it. I used to love the Drive ins when they would dust off the B-Movies and run these triple features.
