We just can't catch a friggin' break!

My wife has been unemployed for 10 months now and has had no luck getting a new job. We've completely burned through our savings and now are selling things that mean stuff to us. She had a perfect job interview on Thursday with a great company, they loved her, it sounded as though it was a sure thing....when we find out the person who was going to vacate the position, decided to stay!!!! :roul

If someone is testing us, ENOUGH ALREADY!!! We get it!!

Our marriage is suffering, our kids are feeling the strain and we just can't catch a break. She can't take some jobs because it would cost us more for afterschool care for the boys and other jobs just think she'll want more than they are willing to pay judging from her previous experience, so they don't even call. Obviously we are feeling the recession with regards to unemployment and how hard it is to get a job. We've just really had enough. Good thing I have a good job, it just doesn't pay enough to keep our heads above water.

Sorry for the rant....I'm just really pissed off now and needed to vent. :guns
I'm done.
Thanks

That freaking sucks. :rant I was about to send you a PM to see how things were going.

Just gotta keep your head up.

Hang in there Chris. I've heard good things happen to good people occasionally, your turn has to be coming up soon.....

Really sorry to hear things aren't going well on the job front. Keep your head up and I'm sure brighter days are ahead. I don't know what your wife does, but spring is usually a good time for hiring. let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I'm sending you a pm today.

Stay tough and hang in there. I know it's easier said then done, but I can say...been there!

I was over 3000 miles from home, lost my job (the same day my wife got a job!), and had two small children. The wife couldn't accept her new job because it was at a lower salary then were she came from. She had applied because with my income we could take the hit and she maintained her tenure. Not so when I lost mine. We also could no longer afford the home we were in and the job market was nil for me where we were at. We ended up selling a car just to finance a move back home. For 5 months neither of us could find work, and we still had the two kids to look out for. We kept our spirits and hopes up, leaning on each other, friends and family. It was a humbling experience to say the least. I was a 15 year vet and had been a Fed. agent, my wife was a 15 year Fed. employee. Things turned and it happened almost at the same time. Within two weeks of the wife getting hired, so did I.

Good things DO happen to good people! Best wishes and prayers go out to you. It'll get better and by all means, vent all you want. It does help!!
