I have actually seen two of those cars...1938 Phantom Corsair & 1953 Alfa Romeo BAT 5 Concept Car
and all are quite beautiful...
But those were built during the age of one off designing. Where wealthy people could have a design mounted to a frame/engine.
There are still those types around ...maybe we can find the new versions of such one-offs for today's age.

I've seen a lot of those. I suspect many of them are from the Nethercutt Collection, here in Socal.
(I tried to get the Knott's crew to go to this museum a few years ago and nobody was interested)
