Well I made a deal on a 93 LX Mustang Vert

and a 2000 Expedition. I found a dealer who will trade my 01 F150 for an Eddie Bauer Expedition and the Mustang. My F150 has a 4.6 and the Expedition has a 5.4L which should be better for towing. It has 200,000 miles and shows wear and tear on the seats, carpet and stuff, well used. My F150 is a second owner (my dad bought it new) and is in excellent shape. The F150 has 3" exhaust, trans cooler, Superchip, K&N filter, trans temp gauge, and did I mention it's in excellent shape?! But towing capacity is maybe 6,000lbs. vs the Expedition rated at 8,000 lbs. My wife like the Expedition, she is a bus driver!
The LX is a 93. It was teal green but has been repainted blue and has a new black top. It has a 2.3 4 banger, auto with AC so it's really fast! It will make a good DD until I pass it down to my son.
I'll post some pics when we get them both home. We just wrapped up the deal this afternoon.

Cool nice find. Not sure about your 2.3, but the 03 Focus I just bought has the 16V 2.3 and it is very "peppy". I have been trying to find some specs on my 2.3 but have found very little.

well I have an HO 5.0 from a 94 Cobra with some trick heads and an E303 cam that was going in the drag car, I could put it in the 93 instead. I have a 9" 31 spline, 5 lug rear from BobV's Saleen that we swapped. I was going to modify it for the drag car but it will bolt right in the Fox body. It is set-up for disc brakes too. I have a front anti-sway bar from a GT.
Or I might leave it alone and just drive it... naw

Leave it alone? Yeah right.
I don't think you could. I know I couldn't.

the first thing I'm doing is taking those goofy WalMart Buick chrome things off the front fenders.

Ya know, I was trying to figure out what those were... :p. Nice little Fox

If it's going to your son, you should leave it alone and let him wrench on it with your guidance.

What was the deal on that Comet next to the Mustang?

That looks to be a nice trade :thu Yeah, I'd leave it alone and you and the son wrench on it after he starts driving.

it's a 4 door Maverick. If it would have been a 2 door I might have considered it over the Fox.
I told my son we are leaving it for now. I don't need to drive it as DD yet so I will just make sure it's reliable.

Mavericks bring back memories.

My grand mother worked at the Ford dealership in Waco for years after they sold the farm and moved to town.

She had a couple of Mavericks through the years...I remember the green with green interior car in particular...maybe because it was such an ugly shade of green?

The only reason she stopped buying Mavericks is because they stopped making them so she bought an Escort and that was the last car she owned before we cut her off on the driving when she was in her early 80's.

The Expedition didn't have a spare so I kept the one from my F150. A few weeks ago I towed my painter's 32 Ford back from the car show in Louisville KY. On the way home we smelled burning rubber. We stopped and couldn't find anything so we kept driving. When I pulled the spare off the F150 I found out what we had smelled. The tail pipe had a rust hole aimed right at the spare. It melted the tire!

The Mustang has typical problems. The ash try door in the console is broke. The right rear window won't roll up without help, the headlights are weather checked/yellowed, the door hinge bushings are shot, the passenger door striker needs to be adjusted... I'm sure there is more. It is fun to drive a VERT however!
