Well that's not a good sign

After that long (hot) memorial cruise yesterday... figures something would have had happened. Noticed tonight there's a nice little puddle (it went all the way to the rear tire just not pictured) of tranny fluid leaking. :roul

Doesn't appear to be leaking from any lines, but the pan itself is pretty wet. Drain plug didn't seem to be loose. Maybe gasket needs replaced? :confu

That seems to be quite a bit leaking just from a bad pan gasket. Check the pan bolts first, if they are tight then it may be something else. Have you driven the car for a length of time before today? Check the dipstick tube to make sure it's not loose too.

+1. The dipstick tube was a problem with my '66. I ended up having to double up the o-ring to get it to stop leaking.

Yesterday was the longest I drove it since putting the motor & tranny back in. All other driving was short trips, 30 min or less.

Kat, Is this a c4, top loader or what?

Tomorrow I'm going to raise her up on jacks and get down and dirty. Check over all the bolts, drain plug, dipstick, etc.

Are you using a stock thin metal oil pan? If so and if you end up replacing the gaskets, be sure to flatten out the flange around each pan bolt hole and do not over tighten. I use a thick flange aluminum pan on Red which allows me to tighten down the bolts big time.

Keep us posted with what you find.

+1. I've had terrible luck with getting that to seal on the case fill c4's. The pan fill c4's are a lot easier to deal with, IMHO.

Also, check around the overflow to make sure that it's not coming from there.
