and had 2 large sodas and a large popcorn--$43.50---I liked the movie though---once a "trekkie" always a trekkie. I went to the 3d version.

Me and the young'ens went. Great movie and I love the way it ties into the other movies, even the "Tribbles".

I saw it Saturday. Awesome movie!

I can't wait to see what JJ does with Star Wars.

But does it?

"The trouble with Tribbles" was the 15th episode of the 2nd season....which put the 'crew' of the enterprise YEARS into their 5 year mission and was the first time they encounter the little rats....yet....there just so happened to be a dead one laying around BEFORE they departed on that 5 year mission..............

Remember....we're in another dimension with this reboot. That's what makes it awesome. They can do whatever they want and still keep it connected in a way. There were plenty of other aliens in starfleet so maybe they already visited the Tribbles homeworld before the 5 year mission.......it's another dimension after all.

:pbj :pbj :pbj :pbj :pbj :pbj

I loved the movie BTW......

Maybe he picked it up at the space station? Spoiler of not, it's still a great movie.

Almost $44 bucks?! :hide
Yeah, you can probably guess it's been over a decade (seriously!), since I went to a theater. At $15 for the DVD when it's released a little over a buck for a 2 liter coke and a coupla bucks for some microwave popcorn...guess what I do? add to that I can sit in a comfortable chair, pause the movie to take a leak, rewind the parts I didn't hear, no one standing up and walking in front of me at the "critical scene" in the movie and NO screaming kids! Yeah, I give up the big screen but it's a price I'm willing to pay for all of the upsides. :soapboxrant

With that said, can't wait until it comes out on DVD!!! :thu

About the only movies I splurge on are Star trek. It is getting out of hand.

Theatre prices are certainly expensive. I used to run a theater about 20 years ago. People used to complain even back then about the prices all the time.

Most of the money from tickets sales goes to the studios. About 90% when a movie opens. So the theater makes most all of its profits at the concession stand. The longer a movie has been running the theater starts to get more of the tickets revenue.

I haven't been to a movie in a theater since July 2009. We saw public enemies with Johnny Depp. That was the night Jen told me she was pregnant. Now I'm afraid to go again.
