Went to look at a '66 Galaxie 7 Litre Convertible

Wow, what a massive chunk of iron! This example is the perfect combination that I've designed in my head:

Emberglo w/ emberglo interior, white top
428 auto (4-speed would be better, but....)
A/C
Power package (locks, windows, driver's seat)
Power steering, brakes, and top
Excellent original driver's condition, not so concours to be afraid of driving it.
Don't see these too often in CA, more often back east or Canada

Checked all the major sheetmetal & confirmed it was original. Didn't get to drive it, but started it, put it through the gears, turned the wheel to hear any belt whine. That was one impressive solid 4500 lb. block of granite. The owner put a lot of $$$ into it 10 years ago, and now thinks it's a gold mine. I'll let the market bring him back to reality. I really don't have the money or space for a toy like that, but it was sure fun to see!

there's a 66 galaxy 2dr hdtp sitting behind a shop up at the end of my street. it must belong to the owner of the building as there have been about 5 businesses open & close there, but the car always stays. been thinking about checking on it...
