Deb has had the week off work and we finally found the time to head out to the lake. It's a beautiful day here in the Heartland, almost no wind and 90*!
Hitched up the boat and headed out, talked to my nephew and he said he would meet us there when he finished working. We both skied till he got there and then Matt was on 2 skis, a wakeboard and finally got the courage up to try one ski. After a few attempts, he got the hang of it and stayed up on one for a couple minutes....great accomplishment for him.
Since it was pretty smooth and I had a driver, I figured I'd give something a try that I hadn't done in 20 years.
Put my barefoot suit on, laced up my old pair of Chuck Taylor's, cinched up the gloves, gave Matt and Deb all the instruction they would need to drive/spot and jumped in.[nb]doing my best impression of Craig[/nb]
Floating, just waiting on the driver!
Here's what a deep water start looks like. Not much to look at, but it will sure give you a nasal enema :ep
Up on two feet/shoes! Waaaaaa hooooooooo
and finally.......trying to do some cutt'n
I was happier than a tornado in a trailer park :ecit Been a long time and was happy to be back on my feet, albeit in a pair of tennis shoes! Not too shabby for a guy freight training into 50 and didn't end up in the ER, so Deb was pretty happy.
What a great afternoon............now I need a nap bj
