What a Rotten Week, I Need to Whine

I've been at my house in Mexico for a week now. It's the hot and humid time right now, but I can live with it. No complaints about that, but my dog isn't too happy. But it's been a rotten week.

First, one of the engines on my boat loses oil and overheats. It's probably toast now and has to be rebuilt. The shop can't take it in until Saturday, so no diving off my boat this trip. We tried the first day, but then the engines died and we were drifting toward the rocks. Fortunately, we corrected the problem and got back in safely on one engine. But, now my new truck batteries are in my boat.

Then, my boyfriend is overloaded with work because this is the Mexican holiday season and he's booked solid for scuba instruction. I've hardly been able to spend any time with him. We haven't even had a dinner together yet because he's exhausted from the work. And, on top of that, I've only gotten in two dives so far--in a week!

Then, yesterday, the water went out in my house. Nothing like being in the shower with shampoo in your hair and your shower goes dry. Arggggghhhh.....

Oh well, at least tomorrow I'm going on a three-tank dive (that I have to pay for since my boat is laid up) and the water is back on (cross my fingers it's still on in the morning). And, I went clothes shopping today. It helped a little. I may even get to see my boyfriend tomorrow evening. Yeah, right....

I think I'll hold out a few more days. Probably be better tomorrow after doing three dives.

And to think, some of us have so good we've all decided to stay here and work! Sigh! :hide

J/K Laurie, hopefully things will get better before your trip is over.

Been fairly crappy all around.

I'm spending my only vacation this year working on my house. Had to put trim in 3 bedrooms, paint said trim, and still have more crap to fix.

Sorry to hear about the boat engine Laurie. Hope it works out ok. Drifting without power is not a good feeling in a boat. You can't just pull over.

How did I know you would chime in on that one. We were not drifting. We were solidly on the rocks.

Sorry to hear about your 'troubles.' Sounds like more stress on vacation than at home. I hope your remaining days over there improve.
