What animal is this?

Tonight my kids came inside and said there was a baby animal in our yard. So I had to go and catch it. I can't figure out what he is. I have seen them run across the road numerous times and always thought they were a marten. This little guys black face makes me think he is a ferret. But he has brown feet and not black. Anyone know what this little guy is.

Looks like a "Stoat" or a Weasel of some sort. Then only native ferret is a black foot ferret but they are very rare.

I have had a number of per ferrets in my house over the years and can tell you that is not any type of ferret I have ever seen. It is a long tail weasel.

They do look just like ferrets except for the coloring. I don't know about their domestication. I can tell you an angry ferret can do some serious bite damage.

It is a cool looking little guy, but a pet?

Aren't weasels omnivorous?
Ferrets are so I am quite certain he would be too.

Ferrets are really cool pets. Like a cross between cats and dogs. If this guy is young enough he may be tamed. All it takes is a good amount of constant handling. His coloring is very cool.

I was only guessing. It would be dead in a matter of seconds in our yard when the dogs got to it.

You'd be surprised, Rod. My boxers loved playing with our ferrets. And if the ferrets didn't want to be caught, the dogs couldn't get 'em. Those suckers are fast!

It is a long tailed weasel thank you for your help. I will be taking this little guy to the base game warden tomorrow. He may be only six inches long but he sure bites like a mf'er. He bit right through my leather glovers. He also put out some type of stink bomb because he sure stunk up my garage when I first brought him in.

Looks to me like an Argentinian Cocolat Sphincter. A very rare animal. Yes indeed :thu
