So what are y'all planning on doing for New Year's Eve?

Myself? Nothing unusual...go to bed at the normal hour because I don't believe that there is anything special about the beginning of a calendar year.

However, in 1999, I wore an aluminum helmet, had the backup generator on, and prayed that the computers would work the next morning!

In 99, I was at a party at my sister and BIL's house. At precisely midnight (I was in the basement), I flipped off the main power at the panel. It was pretty funny (I thought so anyway).
This year I am not doing anything special. No one invites me over any more... :confu

Now that we are older than dirt we don't take much notice of N Y E other than doing something Special for Dinner. This Year Cmanya's
Lobsta Recipe with, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potato's, some long green beans with bacon and Choclate Cheese. Oh yea and I have a bottle
of 1988 Dom that will opened and emptied.

Than the plan is to try out my W E Present so graciously given to me by Mr. Jeff Tepper it's a World Champion San Francisco Giants Monopoly game and we are having another couple over to Christan it.

Not sure if we will make it to Midnight or not but either way as long as I wake up on the correct side of the ground in 11 it will be all good.

Wonder if it has anything to do with you shutting off the power to their ENTIRE HOUSE? :peter

Craig, we're having some neighbors over for hotdogs and marshmellows over my witches cauldren on the driveway and adult beverages for those who please, your welcome to come down...

LOL, one of my buddies did the same thing at our party.

This year, we're just going to a friend's place to hang out, the wife might get tipsy, and I know I'll be bored. They're mostly her friends anyway.

That depends---if I win the lotto I will prob catch a flight to chicago then on to Belize or Aruba for some relaxation, then on to a slow tour of the free and civilized world, then back home to start plans for my new summer home to be built on a 300 acre lake, when plans for that are underway it will be off to vegas to spend some time basking in the sun while the new home is being constructed, while out west I probably will pick up some mint classic cars to play around with, then donate them to charity, I will then begin plans to build our winter get away home in some mild climate area, I will also find a secluded spot to finish that novel I have always wanted to write, then off on a trip to meet as many forum members as time permits and reward them with a generous gift personalized just for them, then off to meet the president to discuss with him ways to fix the economy, create total world peace, and have him tell me what really happened in Roswell, after all that I will prob rest for a while.

If I don't win the lottery we will prob stick around the house and go to bed around 10.

I think we may go out to dinner, but after that it will be business as usual. Bed around 10:30 or so.

Shutting the power off... Yeah, probably! but it was worth it!

I'll talk to SWMBO and see if she is up to it. She is a bus driver and internal clock shuts down around 9pm so she can wake up at 5am. I'll let you know but Thanks so much for the invite either way!

Working. Putting up with all those who feel the need to be complete jackasses because its Jan 1. :rant

I'm staying away from all the drunks and cops. I *may* see 12:01. Probably not though.

working as one of the people everybody is trying to avoid. If I see you one NYE, your night sucks!

Trying to avoid the crowds. Had dinner last night with some family and found that anywhere with 5 blocks of Times Square was already a disaster. Apparently the GF got a baby sitting gig for someone she works with and I am figuring I better keep her company. I've been told there will be food booze and movies waiting for us. The kid should be asleep the whole time we are there. And I sure hope that is true.

Nothing planned for us either. Probably be asleep by 10. :shrug
I don't get into new years, just another day here. And I have to work in the morning too.

A bottom? WTF? If that doesn't sound :homo

Gonna take Shag to the coast for lunch today. Have no idea what we're doing for dinner? Just another night.

Why not have a bowl of Fish Stew as the fisherman used to call it.

Same ole going on here. At 12:00:01 we start tipping over cows. It's a lot of fun especially after some freezing rain. They look like the dead horse from Animal House!!
