What are your thoughts on Daylight Savings Time?

I hate having to change the clocks twice a year. We have at least 10 clocks, and it takes me a good 15 minutes to change all of them. I have to carry my cell phone with me to ensure each clock gets set to the right minute. Then, there's the issue of waking up too early (relative to dawn) or losing sleep.

Daylight can't be saved...it only gets shuffled around because of damn clocks.

I vote we get rid of it once and for all. Damn politicians...

PS: At least they changed it so we go back after Halloween, so the kiddies have that extra hour of daylight to rob us poor ol' housekeepers of our precious candy.

Another gripe: I can never remember:
Spring Forward, Fall Back

or

Spring Back, Fall Forward.

Both make sense to me.

We should be like AZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only the white man can cut the top off of a blanket and sew it to the bottom and believe it gets longer....( Native American take on Daylight savings time)

It sucks.

In some areas of Indiana they don't observe it.

We didn't, until the past few years.

I just assume whenever anything seems silly to me, the hidden reason is that somewhere, somehow, someone is making $$$ off of things being that way.

After living in Az. from '71 to '08, daylight savings time could be enough to make me move back. It sucks and most of my clocks are automatic reset. Must remember to reset the Focus whenever I drive it........dang.

The wife would be forever lost.....

Where is this Daylight Savings and why do they have their own special time? And why do they have to burden US with it? :shrug

It was all started by the Unions as a way to cheat the Corporations out of paid work time.

I think it was started to help the farmers.....I don't understand how though. I think the idea is if there is more daylight at the end of the day and not the beginning the kids coming home from school would still have light to work the farm.

Mind you this was in the early days of this country when most farms were family owned and run.

For some reason I remember them wanting to do away with it back in the 70's. But is was because the children would have to walk to school in the dark. Nevermind that now my daughter will have to walk home in the dark if she cannot find a ride home. She plays water polo and practice is after school. Right now the sun sets here at 4:51pm. I say BAN daylight savings time.

I have always figured if the times of darkness do not fit what you are doing......change what you are doing, don't change the country to fit you.....but then again, that could be discussed on the political board.....
